The Project
Fields, a family lodge and dining on one property
The Cooperstown Experience sits on about 140 acres along Route 28 in the Town of Hartwick, 3.5 miles from the National Baseball Hall of Fame. More than 51 million people live within a five-hour drive. The plan grows in three phases, so each one can open and earn before the next begins.
The three phases
Open today
OperatingFenimore's Table (open year-round), the Cooperstown Clubhouse (reopens spring 2027), a 20-game arcade, wiffle ball fields, lawn games and the courtyard pond deck. You can drive up and see this part working.
Phase 1
Approved, under constructionThree lit synthetic-turf tournament fields, concessions, a welcome center, parking, support buildings and a new turn lane into the property from Route 28. The town's environmental review and the state health department's septic approval are in hand. As of September 2026, fields 1 and 2 are at rough grade, the parking lot behind the Clubhouse is graded, the site septic system is running and the welcome center is being built.
Phase 2
PlannedA 125-room family lodge with a family entertainment center, an arcade and dining, so teams can stay, eat and play on the property.
Phase 3
PlannedFive more synthetic-turf fields, eight in all, so the complex can host larger tournaments.

What sets it apart
The two established tournament complexes near Cooperstown are built around one age group of boys' baseball. This plan adds girls' softball and more age groups, which widens the market to teams those complexes don't serve.
Families also get somewhere to stay. The Phase 2 lodge puts 125 rooms, an entertainment center and dining next to the fields, and Fenimore's Table and the Clubhouse are already open on the property.
Summer tournaments are the core business. Spring and fall weekend events, off-season clinics and indoor entertainment keep the property busy the rest of the year.
